Jodie Phillips Biography
Jodie started riding at 3 and initially competed in showing, riding at the
Horse of the Year Show on several occasions.
She switched to dressage by age 8 and competed in her first Medium
level test at age 9.
She first rode for Great Britain in 1994 and between 1995-2003 rode at
the pony, junior, and young rider Europeans winning a team bronze in
1998. Jodie was the first British young rider to win at international level.
She has also won 5 national titles and been placed in the top 3 from
novice to grand prix at the nationals.
Jodie has competed internationally at grand prix level including world
cup qualifiers. Jodie worked for Jennie Loriston-Clarke at Catherston Stud
for 3 years, and has also trained extensively in Holland and Germany.
Jodie’s competitve career has now taken a back seat and she is focusing
on training people instead, including 2 riders short listed for the young
rider European championships, and also a couple of international event riders.
